Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician has been charged with carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
